CASE STUDY:

USP - United States Pharmacopeia

About the client

United States Pharmacopeia is an independent, scientific nonprofit organization focused on building trust in the supply of safe, quality medicines. Formed in 1820 when 11 physicians came together to take action to protect patients from being harmed by inconsistent, poor-quality medicine. For the past 200 years, USP is dedicated to helping improve global health through standards setting in compounding, biologics, pharmaceutical manufacturing and other fields.

Needs of the client

USP wanted to venture into the Indian learning space with a ‘Micro learning platform’ specific to USP India, for employee training and to sell the courses to pharmaceutical companies across India. The organization used a global LMS before this, but the learning outcomes did not meet the expectations. As the previously used LMS had problems with navigation and user flow, the UX needed to be state-of-the-art. Strong analytics and reporting features, mobile responsiveness, payment gateway integrations, expressing interest in a course, whitelabeling etc were among the other major expectations from the micro learning platform.

The Challenges

  • Excelsoft consulting team spent quality time in understanding the needs of the institution with various stake holders of the group and Excelsoft was able to propose a solution which not only met their expectations but exceeded their expectations in terms of technology and security.

  • The solution proposed was based on the lightweight micro learning platform ‘EnhanzED’ which was developed by our young enthusiastic team at Excelsoft for the needs of the millennials who prefer consuming byte sized video content on the go

  • ‘EnhanzED’ catered to different learner types by giving an option to upload courses in Audio, Video and images  in form of swipers. It also helped the teachers to add mini quizzes at appropriate sections for students to  understand the level of mastery of the concept/course achieved. The platform also supported live video sessions for better social relatedness with students and teachers.

  • Teachers were able to upload the academic content in the form of text, audio, video and pictures from the admin panel by a click of a button.
